Pan-African Youth Forum
November 1 - November 4
The African Youth Day (AYD), which is marked every 1st November, is a day set aside by all 55 Member States to recognise African youth as a driving force for Africa’s future, its unified voice for change, and aims to celebrate young peoples’ contribution to the development of the continent. With the immense potential of over 420 million young people aged between 15 and 35 years (35% of Africa’s population), it is imperative to create safe spaces to amplify their voices to audiences of influence while confronting the existing barriers that compromise meaningful youth engagement.
The month-long celebration will adopt the 2024 AU’s theme of the Year, “Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa”.
The launch and climax of Africa Youth Month is the convening of the youth under the auspices of the Pan African Youth Forum to amplify a unified youth movement for inclusion and development in Africa.
Deadline: Sunday, 6th October, 2024.
