Global Bioeconomy Summit 2024
October 23 - October 24
Since 2015, the International Advisory Council on Global Bioeconomy (IACGB) issued the Global Bioeconomy Summits with the support of the respective partner countries. The first three Summits took place in Germany under the auspices and with significant support from the Federal Ministries of Education and Research (BMBF) and of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). The next GBS is planned for 2024.
The IACGB and the East African hosting partners, the East African Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO) of the East African Community, the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) – Africa Centre, and the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe)/BioInnovate Africa, are delighted to invite you to the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2024
“One Planet – Sustainable Bioeconomy Solutions for Global Challenges”.
Take a look over the significant work of the IACGB, which noted three overarching bioeconomy contributions to people and the planet:
Bioeconomy for health and wellbeing as a key element in building back better during and after COVID-19,
Science and technology breakthroughs advancing the sustainable bioeconomy, and
Climate action, ecosystems and biodiversity protection with and for a sustainable bioeconomy.
The bioeconomy contributes significantly to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with plenty of policy advisers, policymakers, businesses, NGOs, international organisations, researchers, professional and business associations, bioeconomy cluster managers and regional development agencies.
This upcoming Summit will be held in Nairobi, Kenya on the 23rd and 24th of October 2024, but the deadline for submission of Workshop Proposals is 23:59 hours on Monday, 17 June 2024, East Africa Time (EAT). For additional information about this Call, please contact via email: gbs2024@icipe.org.
